Responsibility / Accessibility

A public purpose.
An inclusive intention.

Civic information should be usable by people with different needs, devices and ways of navigating. Accessibility is an ongoing design and verification responsibility.

Our intended standard

This website is designed with WCAG 2.2 Level AA as a review target. This is an intention, not a conformance claim, certification or independent audit result. Applicable legal obligations must be assessed for each jurisdiction and deployment.

Features in this website

Pages use semantic landmarks, a skip link, a heading structure, visible keyboard focus and labelled form controls. The mobile navigation has an explicit open state and can close with Escape. Preview tabs support arrow, Home and End keys. Status and error messages are announced through live regions.

Layouts adapt to narrow screens and zoom. The comparison table can scroll within its own labelled region. Reduced-motion preferences suppress nonessential transitions. The site does not require drag gestures, hover-only interactions or autoplaying media.

Verification and its limits

Automated route, keyboard, responsive and accessibility checks form part of the repository’s verification workflow. Automated results can reveal specific issues but cannot establish full WCAG conformance.

A human review with assistive technology, including screen readers, zoom, high contrast and mobile accessibility tools, remains necessary. The fictional walkthrough does not demonstrate the accessibility of a production CMS, external services or migrated municipal documents.

Known scope and remaining work

The site is currently authored in English. Translated content, right-to-left layouts, third-party application journeys and municipal documents are not provided here. Production accessibility needs to include content quality, document remediation, editorial training and a process for responding to reported barriers.

Report an access barrier

Use the contact page if it is operational in your environment. Describe the page, the task you were trying to complete and the browser or assistive technology involved, if you are comfortable sharing it. Do not include sensitive resident information.

A working alternative contact channel and a human response process must be confirmed before public launch. No response-time guarantee is made on this website.
