The platform direction

Public-facing clarity.
Behind-the-scenes care.

A website is a public service and a shared publishing responsibility. Astra Civic is being shaped to serve both sides of that relationship.

Municipal websites first.

Content, services and governance shaped around public needs.

Read the labels. “Illustrated locally” means functional in this website’s fictional preview. “Proposed core” and “planned” describe product direction, not verified production features. See the full status.

01 / A connected civic foundation

Useful for residents.
Workable for your team.

Start with the content people need, then define the controls and operating model that keep it dependable.
Proposed core

Content with a clear purpose

Structured pages and civic content, with named owners, review dates and a publishing model agreed with your team. The local preview illustrates a notice review; a complete CMS integration is not demonstrated here.

Illustrated locally

A directory built around tasks

The walkthrough demonstrates service categories, search and task details using fixed sample data. Production service models, integrations and application handling need to be scoped and verified.

Illustrated locally

Timely notices, with context

A local draft-to-preview notice flow shows how review can become part of publishing. Scheduling, approvals, audit history and emergency escalation remain proposed platform scope.

Proposed core

Council information, easier to follow

A coherent home for meeting dates, agendas, minutes and documents. Document formats, records retention and connections to existing council systems require discovery.

Illustrated locally

Useful search, honest results

Try filtering the sample service directory. Full-site indexing, document search, synonyms, ranking and measurable search quality require implementation and testing.

Planned / scoped

A local voice, across languages

Design for multilingual content, local terminology and regional date formats. Translation workflow, right-to-left support and language coverage must be agreed and tested.

Design commitment

Access considered from the start

Use semantic structure, clear focus states and reduced-motion support. Accessibility needs content governance, assistive-technology testing and an independent audit; no WCAG certification is claimed.

Proposal-specific

Ownership you can understand

Agree data exports, media handover, hosting access and transition responsibilities in writing. The owner retains platform IP. A licence does not transfer platform ownership.

02 / Make it tangible

Explore the publishing idea.

Switch to Publishing view. Edit a sample notice, complete its review, then see the change in the resident preview. Everything stays in your browser’s temporary state.
