Deployment & licensing

A considered choice.
A clear responsibility.

Your operating model matters as much as your website. Start with your team’s capacity, procurement constraints and need for control.
01 / DELIVERY MODEL

Self-Hosted

License the platform. Operate your infrastructure.

For municipalities or delivery partners with the people and processes to run a website environment. You lead hosting, monitoring, backups, patching and incident response unless separately contracted.

Discuss deployment documentation, update access, staff skills, third-party dependencies and handover support.

Discuss Self-Hosted
02 / DELIVERY MODEL

Managed

Astra builds, hosts and operates.

For teams looking for an Astra-led implementation and an agreed operating relationship. Hosting location, monitoring, backups, maintenance and support must be specified before engagement.

Discuss service hours, escalation routes, recovery objectives, reporting and who approves changes.

Discuss Managed
03 / DELIVERY MODEL

Enterprise

Advanced requirements, on either model.

For more complex governance, integrations and support requirements. Enterprise is a configurable engagement across self-hosted or managed hosting, rather than a separate promise of certified controls.

Discuss identity, access, data residency, integration boundaries, audit needs and procurement evidence.

Discuss Enterprise

01 / Side by side

Know who holds the responsibility.

A starting point for discussion. Your signed proposal and agreement define the actual allocation, scope and commercial terms.

02 / Ownership & continuity

Understand the licence.
Plan the handover.

Clarity now helps avoid difficult assumptions later. These are the subjects we expect to address, not a substitute for an agreement.

Perpetual is a discussion.

A perpetual licence may be discussed. Permitted use, versions, update rights, support, restrictions and rates remain quote-specific. No licence rights are granted by this website.

Platform IP stays with its owner.

The owner retains Astra Civic’s platform intellectual property. Your rights to municipal content, supplied materials and commissioned work must be identified separately in the agreement.

Plan for portability.

Agree export formats for content and media, access to infrastructure, documentation, transition assistance, costs and deletion obligations. Portability is a defined deliverable, not an assumed unlimited service.

Questions worth asking

Before you choose.

Are prices or service levels published?

No. Fees, service hours, response targets, recovery objectives and remedies depend on scope and a signed agreement. There are no public SLA guarantees.

Can we use our existing infrastructure?

That is the intention of the Self-Hosted option. Compatibility, required services, deployment tooling and team readiness must be assessed before a proposal. No environment compatibility is guaranteed here.

Does Managed guarantee a particular data region?

No region is promised on this website. State your residency and supplier requirements during discovery so feasibility and contractual commitments can be assessed.

Can we move between hosting models?

Potentially. A transition needs a scoped migration, compatibility review, responsibility transfer and commercial agreement. A frictionless or cost-free change is not promised.

What does Enterprise include?

Enterprise is a configurable conversation about advanced controls, integrations and support, with either hosting model. No identity integration, certification or control should be assumed until demonstrated and contracted.

Can we evaluate before making a commitment?

You can explore the fictional local walkthrough and request a guided demonstration. Any evaluation environment, proof of concept, access conditions and costs require a separate agreement.

Procurement should rely on a written scope, validated capability evidence and reviewed contracts. Use our procurement checklist.
